Being a Principal of a school in one of the rural areas of WA it was sometimes difficult for my small school, to not only afford all the materials or resources we needed but also to make connections with other schools, especially across sectors.
Now at an affluent school in metropolitan Perth, as a Head of Junior School, I sometimes find myself in the opposite arena where I have ample materials and resources which are too good to simply throw away and are gathering dust in storage. At this stage, like most Principals, I became frustrated at trying to make connections with colleagues to find a good home for my excess resources.
Therefore over a period of months and discussing this concern with a colleague we began to brainstorm solutions to this dilemma. With my knowledge of education and school needs and his experience in technology the Aroga Network was born.
